Our Journey to TechFest NW
What's Open Blog Post #1
We are so excited you are here. We have so much to share with you since What's Open hit the App Store. It’s been quite the journey! In November of 2020, we celebrated a huge win -- we released our first version of our app and was an instant success for locals all around the world!
Since then, our team has actively been listening, testing and gathering feedback from users and local business owners across Washington, Oregon and California. We canvassed many businesses and identified ways we can improve our app to best connect users to them and to identify their struggles during this pandemic.
These last few months, our executive team have participated in a series of workshops with AOTech - an education program and investment event hosted by Oregon Entrepreneur Network that connects tech entrepreneurs with investors.
Last month, we did a preliminary qualifying pitch for an opportunity to receive a $125,000 angel investment.
We are excited to announce we were selected as finalists to pitch on the main stage of TechFestNW on May 21st! We are looking forward to speaking about our mobile app that helps shoppers discover, engage and shop at nearby local independent businesses.
We hope you can join us! Tickets are on sale here.
